Snowmass 2001:
Working Group E6 on Astro/Cosmo/Particle
Experiments
Charge
to the Working Group on Astro/Cosmo/Particle Experiments.
We are in the process of organizing and scheduling sessions in more
detail. At this point we plan on organizing a set of six topical subgroups, each
of which will meet for several of the available E&M working group
session. Because this working group has a very broad charge, some sessions will
be run in parallel. We expect each of the working group sessions to begin with
approximately two hours of formal presentations, followed by less formal
presentations and discussions of the questions raised by the charge.
The goal of each topical subgroup is to produce a
document answering the main questions in the charge. Namely:
- What is the current status of experimentation in this area?
- What are the generic capabilities of experiments required to carry out the
scientific program for the coming decade?
- What major new facilities are being considered? What is there performance
and feasibility?
- Are there ways to improve the institutional support for work across the
boundaries of the funding agencies?
Of course, feel free to register for
Snowmass itself in the meantime. The deadline was May 23, 2001. You can still
register late!
Topical subgroups, their organizers, and proposed dates. Please note that
these dates have evolved and may yet change. If you are interested
in
presenting material in any session please contact the appropriate organizer.
